Studio Conversations Session 1: Introduction
Date & Time: 7.12.2025, 14:00
Studio Conversations is a small gathering focused on shared making and steady exchange. Each session takes place in an intimate workspace and centers on a specific material or way of working. This edition introduces suminagashi, floating ink on water to create prints guided by quiet gesture and breath.
Open to artists, collectors, curators, writers, and those simply moved by art.
A small participation fee supports the continuation of this shared table.
Structure of the Evening
1. The Abstract Conversation
A paired drawing exercise where we meet one another through attention rather than accuracy.
2. Open Studio
A short, unstructured time to move through the space, notice works in progress, and become familiar with the environment.
3. The Visual Conversation - Suminagashi on Paper and Fabric
Guided printing on hosho paper and fabric, exploring how form appears rather than forced.
4. The Textual Conversation
We end by leaving one mark or word on a shared sheet of paper, a quiet record of the evening.
Ticket: €26 (materials, tea, and snacks included)
Participants leave with two prints — one on paper and one on fabric. Limited attendance
Conversational Topics:
What happens when the material leads?
How does attention change what we make?
How do we recognize when something is “finished” or does it matter?
What forms of knowing happen through the hand rather than through language?
