Old Friends Meet Again

Exhibition Title: Old Friends Meet Again 2026
Location: School of Sculpture, Berlin
Exhibition Date: May 2nd 2026
Application Deadline: April 10th 2026

Inviting artists, as well as practitioners in culinary arts, performance, and other material-based disciplines, to submit work for Old Friends Meet Again, a site-responsive exhibition set within the marble sculpting garden in Berlin.

This iteration focuses on artwork as part of the environment, works are placed directly within the garden and engage with the space. The exhibition unfolds over the course of the evening as guests move freely through the garden, encountering works gradually. A tea ceremony closes the evening, and food will be available throughout.

We welcome submissions from artists whose work can engage with:
– Outdoor and site-specific conditions
– Material dialogue with stone, marble, and natural surroundings
– Subtle audience engagement or reflective presence

Important Info:

– Works will be installed directly in the garden. Artists should account for uneven ground, outdoor conditions, and bring any necessary supports or fixings.
– Artists are responsible for transport, handling, and setup costs. Installation will take place on the day of the exhibition; deinstallation will happen the following day. Artists are responsible for installing their own work.
– Artists are required to be there for the evening
– The curator will be present throughout the event for oversight and guidance.
– Artists are responsible for insuring their own work if needed

– Studio 11 is a self-funded, artist-run initiative. While efforts are made to support participating artists where possible, financial contributions are not guaranteed and depend on the overall budget of the event. As planning develops, any available resources will be shared as fairly as possible.

Due to limited capacity, only selected artists will be contacted. Selected participants will receive further installation details after the deadline.

Looking foward to seeing your work!

Also feel free to take a look at last years edition - under curated events!
